Mary Rupert February 19, 1929 – May 4, 2023

Mary Ilene Rupert, of Maltby, WA, passed peacefully on May 4, 2023 at Providence Medical Center following a brief illness. Born February 19, 1929 to Charles and Edith Walster in Maltby, she married Lorin Rupert July 11, 1952 and had 4 children.

Mary was predeceased by husband Lorin in 2007, her sister Ida and brothers Harry Walster, Lee Walster, Ralph Walster, and Bernard Walster.

She is survived by brothers Ray Walster (Pat) and Stanley Walster (Phyllis); 4 children – Kathy Gay (Fred), Tom Rupert (Doris), Sally Newman (Rick), and Ken Rupert; 6 grandchildren – Lyndsey Alexander (Marcus), Sara Newman (Kevin Lester), Lynette Spivey (Scott Wammack), Jeff Spivey (Bernie Foster), Annastaisa Rupert and Paul Rupert; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Mary was a dedicated gardener, mother and homemaker. She cared for and served the people in her life and attended the First Congregational Church of Maltby. For the past 30 years, Mary also served the surrounding community volunteering at the Maltby Food Bank.

A memorial service will be held June 10, 2023, 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church of Maltby with a reception immediately following at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Maltby Food Bank at maltbyfoodbank.org or mailed to 21104 86th Ave SE, Snohomish, WA 98296.
